Terry sent a message to Kelly S. King – Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BBT Corporation – Email Address that said:
Dear Mr. King. My name is Terry. My wife is manager of BbT bank in Chattanooga, TN. She does not know that I am writing you this email.
I want you to know I have the highest respect for you as a leader of the worlds finest bank.
I am writing in behalf of my son-in-law who was hired at the Eastridge branch. His name is Benjamen Denney.
Ben is a fine Christian young man and was a great asset to the branch. He met his goals and helped the Eastridge branch prosper.
Recently Ben made a mistake. He got in a hurry and deposited money in his mom and dads account without thinking. He realized after he did this it was a breach of the ethics code and was very remorseful. No money was lost by the branch and when questioned, Ben was honest and truthful about his mistake.
He was fired yesterday by regional manager HR.
I feel this was unjustified. I believe, under the circumstances he should have been issued a final written warning and given the opportunity to learn from his one mistake.
Now this young family (with a baby) is without any income.
I would appreciate it if you could look into this a little further to stern one if your manage HR may have pulled the trigger to quickly.
Respectfully,
Terry
