Melis sent a message to Kelly S. King – Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BBT Corporation – Email Address that said:

Dear Mr. King,
This is in reference to a complaint. I chose BBT for my start up non profit business because of a referral for its customer service, however, I quickly realized that there is a serious lack of best business practices. This is very simple, and it goes back to return item fees and the nonchalant and random ways of putting a "hold" on deposits. Then when the bills bounce, staff lying stating "there were insufficient funds" which was not true. Then they try to put it on me to say "the teller should tell you" which never happened. Then they say "the computer prompted the teller to put the hold, and it should state on the receipt." I do have an official complaint with the case number  The branch is located in Burke Centre Pkwy, Burke, VA.
At this point I have a bunch of return item fees, late fees and a great deal of grief. I am running a non profit childcare center for low income, single parent families and money is always tight and a big issue. I have tried to go up the ladder of authorities to no avail, and I have to watch my EVERY PENNY as I care for children in need in this business. I appreciate your time and energy in this matter. ps: I have placed an order for an ATM card and that also has not arrived 3 weeks later. Apparently, it was never processed, and I have to wait another 5-10 days because they won't expedite it even though it was bank error.
