Judy sent a message to Edward Lampert – Chairman and CEO of Sears Holdings – Email Address that said:
Dear Mr. Lampert,
I am writing to you regarding an installation initiated, and facilitated by Sears 09/04/2003. While I am aware it was 13 years ago, this installation nearly burnt down my home 11/14/2016. Our heat went out , fried the thermostat, and when I saw the condition of the wiring, removed by the repair technician, I was horrified. The wiring was NOT to code, proper splicing equipment was not used, and the repairs cost me $490. These repairs wouldn't have been at all necessary if it was installed correctly to begin with. The company -All Air -was Sear's choice for installer of my Carrier Weathermaker w/ Puron . I spent over $7500 on that purchase. All Air has since been sold, and the new owner is less than helpful. This is not a normal "wear tear"- this is a dangerous install that , thankfully didn't catch my insulation on fire under the crawl space where it is located. The company that fixed it has agreed to speak to someone from Sears as they can fully describe what happened. I do not feel that I should bear this expense- if All Air had done it correctly the first time- this email wouldn't be necessary at all. I am asking for reimbursement of the $490 repair bill. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
Regards,
Judy
