Mrs. Myriam sent a message to Terry J. Lundgren, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Macy's Inc.- email address that said:
Dear Mr. Lundgren,
Macy's is closing in our local mall, North Bend, Oregon. I will manage to live without it. But today, what's disturbing me is the box of Godiva chocolates my hard-working, single, daughter bought there at the going-out-of-business sale.
OK, so it was marked down to $18 from $30. But that doesn't excuse the rancid, discolored, chocolate within. And because the store is closing, they have a "No Returns" policy in place.
I have shopped at Godiva stores in large cities before, and they are famous for their fresh, rich, luscious chocolates. If they knew about the quality of the chocolates being sold in North Bend, Oregon, Godiva, Inc., would hang its head in shame. And so should you.
I would like you to send my daughter, Jennifer Harvey, a fresh box of chocolates. It would make me, and her, feel a whole lot better about her Macy's experience.
And I will share the results of this communication with everyone on my extensive email list.
Thanks for being the great CEO that I've heard you are.
Anticipating your reply, I am,
Cordially,
Mrs. Myriam
