Clay sent a message to Kevin Mansell Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Kohls Corporation Email Address that said:
Dear Mr. Mansell,
I wanted to let you know about a little unnecessary irritation my wife encountered recently. She has had a Kohl's credit card for some time now and loves shopping there. We always pay the card balance in full.
We relocated to North Carolina in 2014 and continued to receive forwarded bills for a while. When my wife noticed that she was no longer receiving coupons she advised the local Kohl's of our new address. We immediately began getting the promotional materials again.
The other day she received an email indicating we had a past due balance. She immediately called customer service and provided the new address which the local store or the Kohls computer apparently did not communicate to the billing department. We were out at a local restaurant at the time when things got a little ugly as the CSR transitioned to collection agent. My wife told her we would take care of the bill when we got home and terminated the conversation.
When we got home I got online with our CU and issued payment in full. I apologize for my part in the misunderstanding. I pay the bills and in September last year I was diagnosed with bladder cancer so I have been a little distracted. On the other hand, since I believe the record will reflect that my wife has been a loyal Kohl's customer and that we have always paid our balance in full and on time, I take exception the obvious lack of corporate communication with respect to the new address information provided to a local Kohl's and to the dunning when we realized a problem existed and acted to correct it.
I hope this helps as Kohl's struggles to survive in America's fading economy.
Sincerely,
Dr. Clay
