Dear Mr. Massey,
My mother has osteoarthritis, which leaves her in constant pain. Walking is very difficult for her. She has been a loyal Petsmart customer for many years. Her four cats bring her much happiness and taking care of them is one of her greatest joys. I have repeatedly sent messages to Customer Service asking for your company to please consider motorized carts for your stores. Our local store, has a rickety wheelchair in the back, available upon request. We were told to use that, and that I could accompany her with a shopping cart. This is not an option for us as my mother cannot physically operate the wheelchair. We were then told she could put a hand basket in her lap. How? We are buying 3-4 cases of canned food a week, plus 15 lb bags of dry food and 25 lb boxes of litter. She has struggled for so long, in pain, to take care of her pets. I have had to bring her a stool to sit on in the aisle because she could no longer stand.
Her arthritis has progressed now to the point where she can no longer come into your store at all. She has to sit in the car, alone, while I shop. This breaks my heart. She loved to look at the sale items and has adopted three cats through your store. She can no longer do that. Please consider providing motorized carts to your disabled customers, so that they can shop in dignity and comfort. Surely you could consider this very worthy investment. Disabled people love their pets, too. Thank you very much for your time. - Lorrie
