Masai sent a message to John McAvoy – Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Consolidated Edison, Inc. – Email Address that said:
Dear Mr. McAvoy:
I know that you are a busy man and I assume you don’t generally get involved in minor matters like my situation. However, I am appealing to you out of disparity. My services were interrupted over a mere $65. In all I am $1,600 or so in the rear. I had a payment arrangement that I tried desperately to keep up with, but fell short $65 last month. I paid $200 on 8/19/16 and called the office and was told I would not have a problem as long as I continue to make payments. My next due date is 9/16/16 and my service has been interrupted today 9/6/16.
I have been working as a public servant in the social service field for over 2 decades helping others less fortunate than myself. The work is admirable but humble in monetary compensation. Unfortunately, because of my position, I am not eligible for public assistance and I have no family member or friend who can assist me with my bills. It has been a struggle as I am living pay check to pay check; but I am more than content to continue to serve the clientele I serve.
I am not asking for a free ride, but I need my services reinstated while I continue to play catch-up. I will be able to make my regular payment on the due date of 9/16/16. I do not have the means or resources to make a payment before then and would greatly appreciate a little respite now. Please help me. Don’t allow me and my family to sit in the dark over what equates to pennies to a multi-billion dollar industry such as Con Ed.
