Holly sent a message to Peter E. Nordstrom – President and CEO of Nordstrom Inc. – Email Address that said:
Dear Mr. Nordstrom,
A few weeks ago I received heart breaking news from Nordstrom. I was not hired for a job. This may not seem so traumatic on the surface, but let me explain.
Recently I moved to Northbrook, IL, after selling my family home of 25 years in Kentucky. I have always loved Nordstrom and shopped there throughout my travels and sometimes online. I encourage all my friends to find what they want to buy and then check Nordstrom and buy it there. You stand behind all your products and your staff is always so helpful and polite.
Last year when I was in New York I noticed that you were opening a store in the city. My plans were to move to New York city, but those plans did not work out. However, I formulated my perfect job. Work at Nordstrom, but invent a more public charitable/giving back to the community scenario.
Manhattan would be a great place to have live windows to promote this venue. For instance, to support animal shelters have actual animals in the windows, with handlers of course. Adoption information would be available at the store, as well as pet products for sale (a portion of sales donated to the shelters). You get the idea.
This is my perfect job, working at Nordstrom and providing a service to those in need. Sharing this with you helps to take away the sting of not being offered a job. Perhaps it will plant a seed.
I remain a loyal shopper.
Sincerely,
Holly
