Natasha sent a message to Michael O’Leary – CEO, Ryanair – Email Address that said:

Dear Mr. O'Leary,

I am contacting you because I have flown regularly with Ryanair. I flew to Brussels Charleroi airport on the 2nd of December 2015, staying and returning home on December 5th. Upon arriving to fly back to Dublin on 5th of December, we noticed that Dublin airport was closed due to high winds and we were unable to fly that day. We were due to then fly onto Birmingham on Saturday 5th so also missed our flight on to Birmingham.

A friend of mine was flying abroad on the Sunday afternoon and was minding my children in Dublin so I had to get back to Dublin asap. The next flight I was bring offered back to Dublin from the Charleroi team was Monday night, I understand that this was the only next flight available but given the circumstance with my children in Dublin, my priority was to get back to Dublin asap to collect my children.

We had to travel with another airline. We then eventually got a flight back to Birmingham from Dublin on Tuesday, December 8th at 6.30am I found the whole thing very expensive due to the time of year that it was. I have submitted expenses twice now which unfortunately I only have from the hotel that we stayed in in Charleroi as the other receipts had faded by the time I got home - I understand that's my error. I couldnt get a receipt for the extra 3 days of car parking they they charged me in Birmingham airport either as I had to get my kids to their final school performance ( we moved country again in January so they were desperate to take part in their school performance) soI went straight back to Shropshire where we lived at the time and hoped to get a receipt from the airport car parking but they've since said I can submit my bank statements - not sure if Ryanair would accept this?

The expenses I incurred were extremely difficult for me at that time, they included a new flight back to Dublin for myself and my husband, our hotel in Charleroi, food which we went to the supermarket for to keep costs down, train ticket to another airport, two nights in Dublin with our three small children, again food from a supermarket, 4 extra days car parking at Birmingham airport and I actually struggled financially as a result.

The only expenses I have submitted was the hotel room in Charleroi as I have no other receipts and Im still waiting for it. My husband recently flew British Airways and had a flight cancellation and gothis expenses within 2 weeks plus an apology - I have received nothing from Ryanair. To add to my problem I actually feel like I have been a loyal customer as I've flown with your company for years. We travel back and forth to Ireland, the UK and now Belgium many times a year as I am an Irish citizen living abroad with my Irish husband and our three children. Its angered me to think that I have to work so hard to get my hotel covered and that I'm waiting still for this expenses nearly 8 months on!

I would appreciate a reply as to how you think my complaint should have been handled and when I should expect payment!

Natasha
