Pauline sent a message to Arthur L. Peck,Chief Executive Officer of Gap Inc. Email Address that said:
Dear Mr.Peck,
I have been an avid fan of Banana Republic clothes for several years. This brand was my primary place to shop for both work and casual clothing. The brand had excellent quality materials, professional tailoring at reasonable prices.
I can understand the need to update styles and change to a more modern and artistic viewpoint. However, in my opinion, this should have been done with one small sample line of clothing in the store.
The new clothing style found in the store more recently is contemporary, and may appeal to a small percentage of individuals in a particular field, but is far from the beautiful, sophisticated and tailored garments that once hung in the store.
Someone needs to try on the clothing and test the materials before purchasing! The clothes are uncomfortable, unflattering and scratchy.
I urge you to return to the practice of using soft, classic materials such as silk, cotton and wool and classic tailoring. Perhaps bring in one line to add a modern twist, but please dont change the whole store.
My particular field is not in retail and design, but I have been following each and every piece of your clothing for the past 12 years. I can offer more suggestions if someone would like to contact meĀ .
Sincerely,
Pauline
