Dear Mr. Rust, My father,Maze, was a State Farm agent for 46 – Edward B Rust Jr email address

Jeff sent a message to Edward B. Rust, Jr. – chairman of the board and chief executive officer of State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company Email Address that said:

Dear Mr. Rust,
My father, Maze, was a State Farm agent for 46 plus years in Birmingham, Alabama and had one of the lowest claims ratios of any agent. He had immense admiration for State Farm and your father. He truly believed in State Farm and State Farm blessed our family through my dad. I have personnally been a customer for 39 years now with minimal claims. I have mutiple cars, homeowners, RV, commercial and residential real estate and life insurance all with State Farm. I would say me and my family, including siblings, have been very loyal customers and have always thought State Farm returned that loyalty. I have a 16 year old son that recently had one accident with no damage to his car and minimal damage to the other vehicle and another one six months later requiring his bumper to be replaced and minimal damage to the other vehicals bumper. It is my understanding that both claims were under $5,000. I was recently informed that his insurance rate would increase 165% from $175 per month to $464 a month for a three year period. Based on these rates over three years State Farm will collect more than both my sons claims. It is also my understanding that State Farm will cancel his coverage if there are any more claims filed within the next three years. Sadly I find myself thinking that State Farm is not the same State Farm of old that I have known. I also find myself thinking that loyalty does not matter any more and that I am being encouraged to take my business elsewhere by pricing my family out. In the case I have to obtain insurance for my son elswhere, it only makes sense to move all of my business eslwhere. I felt such disappoint in how the business has changed especially with my dad being a former agent that I felt compelled to send a personal message. If someone from State Farm can give me a good reason to not make my insurance about nothing but dollars, I would welcome the comments. My agent is a good agent but the company has made them powerless over the years.

Kind regards,
Jeff
