Lynda Acker sent a message to Thomas M. Rutledge - Chief Executive Officer and President of Charter Communications, Inc. - Email Address that said:
Dear Mr. Rutledge,
I am writing to you out of desperation. We live on a small horse farm in Southern Pines, NC, which is located very close to areas which are served by Spectrum Cable. Unfortunately, our road is not served by your company, and weve been told (by Time Warner Cable) that service will never be available to us because were located too far from the existing cable lines. In fact, our neighbors at the end of our road (four houses away) have cable service so I dont understand why the service cannot be extended to the remainder of the road.
Our road is populated by professionals (Disney executive, professor, physician, attorneys, biologist, industrialist, etc.) who choose to live in the country because we enjoy nature and equestrian pursuits, but who need fast and reliable wireless connectivity. At this point, the best wireless service we can acquire is via HughesNet Gen5, which is completely inadequate. Furthermore, our TV connection is through DirectTV, which is unreliable in inclement weather.
We spend our summers in Chautauqua Institution, NY, where we have cable service. There, our home is well connected- we can stream video, use Alexa, download information, and keep an eye on the weather report, even during storms! While this is commonplace for most, its a treat for us, because when we return to our rural home in NC at the end of the summer, we again deal with little to no connectivity.
I ask that you please consider adding cable service to our location. Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.
With kind regards,
Lynda Acker, Ph.D.
