Martyn sent a message to Dan Schulman – President and CEO of PayPal – Email Address that said:
Dear Mr Schulman, I have been a paypal customer for some time and have always felt 100% assured that my bank and financial information is safe and secure with your company. However over the last 2 months my confidence in Paypal has dropped significantly and it has all started since deciding to start a paypal credit account. I have followed to the letter and as confirmed by your customer service agents, how to set up a direct debit so that payments are made each month, however since doing this back in June the last 2 payments have not been taken, despite being told by your employees that everything is set up correctly and I do not need to anything. Twice now despite those assurances I have had late payment charges applied to my account and twice I have had to contact you to make a complaint, only to be told the direct debit is set up correctly and the error is between yourselves and my bank - Santander. Firstly if you knew this issue was there, why did you send me an email telling me my payment was overdue, for the 2nd month in a row and why did I have to contact you to get this resolved!!!! I am now seriously regretting setting up a paypal credit account and only hope that others do not experience a similar problem. I would be keen to understand from you if this is something that PayPal is comfortable with and what Paypal is trying to do to ensure this does not happen again. Martyn.
