Sent a message to Dan Schulman President and CEO of PayPal Email Address that said:
Dear Mr. Schulman,
I'm writing you on behalf of my husband.
Our problem will certainly be considered a small matter but it has been sorely troubling and has shaken my husband to such an extent that I thought I needed reach out to you. Iâm hoping for your kind consideration and assistance.
I should first tell you that my husband is Obsessive Compulsive and one of the things it displays with is his cameras,.. he keeps them immaculate.
So he sold one of his treasured cameras.
The buyer claimed the USB port on it did not work.
Of course, my husband knew this was not so.
As you know, EBay policy allowed the buyer to return the camera and the money returned to them, and my husband had to pay for the return shipment.
The problem: the buyer substituted the good camera for another broken camera. One that is marred, scratched and not even able to be turned on (to even know whether a USB port worked or not). The returned camera even has an added part that my husbands original camera did not have!
My husband has his product photos as proof that the broken camera he received is a different camera than he sold.
So in short, my husband's camera was stolen (valued about $170). And he had to pay the shipping cost to have a broken substitute camera sent back to him.
There are red flags with the buyer, in that there are multiple names associated with their account and their address is a pack and ship store in a strip mall.
Through this experience we now understand that EBay's policies protect the buyer at ALL costs irrespective of proofs of fraud on their part.
So my appeal to you is rather on a personal level.
I cannot successfully explain to you the anxiety my husband is experiencing over this issue, and therefore the upset in my family.
He has called customer service many times.
He seeks simply the lost value of his camera.
Please, if you have a few moments and means to do so - we invite you, please to look into our matter.
(Or please forward this issue to an appropriate contact)
Thank you
