Dear Mr. Sorenson,
I can not imagine having the responsibility of a $14,000,000,000 lodging company all over the world. In comparison my issue is very small in deed. I don't know how many ordinary people write you. I am sure you hear mostly from important business men. I am writing in regards to an incident in Louisville, KY against an awesome employee that has been in the hospitality industry for 14 years. The name of the employee is Sarah Harris. She is loved by her coworkers. When she was fired her coworkers were shocked because she is vital to the hotel where she worked. I am not sure of her title, but she was corporate. Her job was suppose to be home based. When she was forced to work in the hotel, which was understaffed, she was not able to do all the activities she was assigned. Employees were constantly keeping her from her job. In one of her reports she discussed an on site tour which she planned, greeted the clients and escorted to the event. She put this in her report and was told she falsified company records because another person did the tour. She does so many of these tours and was actually the person that pointed out she might need to delete that activity. So, to make a long story short, she was given 90 days to do activities that were way beyond what she could do. She was constantly interrupted by hotel employees to help them, including people in the kitchen. Her general manager begged her boss not to fire her. She has gotten emails and texts from people that cannot believe what happened to a person that works as hard as Sarah. People love her!! She is devastated because she loves her job, and is so good.. She had a 6% improvement when she started helping out the Garden Court in Louisville. She made her revenue and worked 50 hours a week. Bottom line, I am hoping an employment opportunity could become available for her in Louisville, KY. I know this is long, but I was trying to fully explain the situation. She does not know I am writing, so I cant add more details that she could do so much better. I just know that for 90 days she has been a very devastated person. Thank you for anything you could do for her.
Sincerely,
Frances
