Dr. James W. Herbert sent a message to Edward W. Stack Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Dicks Sporting Goods Email Address that said:
Dear Mr. Stack: I am very dismayed that you would "pull" assault rifle sales from Dicks, ESPECIALLY when these are NOT assault rifles! This "feeds in" to the hysteria being politically created by the main stream media and the liberal democrats and their plan of false information will most certainly affect the youth of our country.
I have purchased many items from Dicks and DO NOT intend to return to any of your stores. I know you dont care an ounce about this, but I will make every effort to make sure my family and friends now about this. With a doctorate in education from Columbia University and a retired company president, I cannot believe that you would "fall prey" to disinformation from ABC, NBD, etc.
