Dear Mr Toyoda, I am writing on behalf of my brother Con ONeill of Knockavoher – Akio Toyoda email address

Bridgett sent a message to Akio Toyoda President and CEO, Toyota Motor Corporation – email address that said:

Dear Mr Toyoda,

I am writing on behalf of my brother Con O'Neill of Knockavoher, Leap, County Cork Ireland,  who purchased a 4 door Corolla 1.4 Diesel from Cogans Toyota Garage Carrigaline County Cork Ireland in January 2015 at a cost of 25,000 Euros.
To his horror this month a Rat entered the Open Air Vent got into the vehicle, chewed wiring to components that control the operating of the seat belts which has now prevented them from working, also the wiring for the central locking which again is not working, the rat has also chewed through some of the seat covering. My brother took the car back to Cogans Toyota's Garage they have refused to repair it under the warranty.
It is my understanding Toyota are aware of the issue of the large vents in their vehicles which allows rodents to go through easily, I believe there should be a wire mesh over any open vents to stop Rodents getting in to Vehicles. Under no circumstances should a car have an open vent that allows Rodents or any other wildlife to climb in through.
My brother his wife were very happy with vehicle until he encountered this problem.
As CEO of Toyota we are looking to you for assistance with getting the repair covered under the warranty agreement that a wire mesh will be placed on these vents to stop further Rodents from getting in causing any further heartache.
When my brother purchased this vehicle he was not informed of this Open Air Vent that Rodents could get in through. Currently the vehicle is sitting with Cogan's Toyota Garage they are refusing to fix under warranty stating they cannot cover any further faults if car taken away without been fixed the repairs paid for. It would be very much appreciated if you could in anyway assist here in getting the repair done under the warranty.

Look forward to hearing from you.
Thanking you in advance
Bridgett
