Emily Virkler sent a message to Akio Toyoda President and CEO, Toyota Motor Corporation - email address that said:
Dear Mr. Toyoda,
We have had a problem with a 2005 Toyota Camry. My husband was in a car accident because of the ABS system. He was breaking on a slight incline when a car in front of him slammed on their brakes. He was breaking fine as the day was clear and the road was dry and warm. He knew he had enough time to stop, then the ABS kicked in. Causing his car to stop braking as fast and to glide into the other person going about 5 to 8 miles and hour. This has caused $5,200 worth of front end work on the car per your dealership. We cannot afford this as my husband is a civil servant and we have three children. We have tried repeatedly to contact and talk with your company. They say they are not at fault. We have done research on this online and have found numerous other people who have had the same problem. We are not saying the ABS did not come on, we are saying it did when there was no reason for it to. Please get back with me. My phone number is 770) 833-2670 and email is virkwolfgirl@gmail.com. Thank you for taking your time to hear my complaint. The only reason we are pursuing this is that we absolutely love this car. It is the best car we have ever owned. We need a car for my husband to go to work.
Sincerely,
Emily Virkler
