Yasmin sent a message to Ben van Beurden – CEO, Royal Dutch Shell – Email Address that said:
Dear Mr Van Beurden
I am sure you are a very busy and important person but I would really welcome your help. For several weeks I have, without success tried to have my genuine complaint of a racist incident I was subjected to at a Shell fuelling station in Merseyside looked at. I have sent several emails and made several calls to the Shell Complaint team. Your team in their response talk about the "lack of intent" on the part of the racist member of staff. I have explained that their focus should be on the IMPACT on me! Your team also seem to distance themselves from the incident because the fuelling station is leased out. As far as I am concerned the name of Shell is emblazoned all over the station and it is your good name that is being dragged into disrepute.
I am a mature, professional woman and I am appalled at my treatment during and after the incident. I will not use a Shell fuel station again anywhere until my complaint is resolved satisfactorily . Equally friends and family take a similar stance and have encouraged me to take my concerns further. I have asked the complaints team to escalate my case but they have not. In the last contact they provided a name and phone number for the owner of the garage. Clearly very unsatisfactory.
Please can you respond to my concerns.
Regards
Yasmin
