Karen sent a message to Miles D. White Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Abbott Laboratories Email Address that said:
Dear Mr. White, I am writing to ask for your assistance in resolving an outstanding work issue. I was employed by ADC from 2005 to 2007 and because I left short of my 2 year anniversary ADC is asking for #13000+ settlement dollars from me. While I was employed I paid $100/month towards this debt. In 2012 however, I was forcibly retired. I am 71 years old and live on $2277/mo SSA allowance. I am being asked to repay $11,000+ that remains on the debt. I am unable to repay this debt. I am fairly confident Abbott does not wish to be known as the company that harrassed a 71 yo retiree for money from their small government stipend. I also believe that were I credited for the many, many weekends and holidays I worked for ADC over and above my scheduled time it would certainly make up the time to complete 2 years. I have diabetes and have had 2 heart attacks and the constant hounding by Abbott is very upsetting. I cannot repay this money and feel I have no options remaining to me, save to ask for your assistance. Having this debt hanging over me is very stressful and is doing my heart/diabetes no good. I hope that you will be understanding and help me out. When I worked for Abbott I did everything in my power to be a good, fair and honest employee. I would appreciate any help you can provide. I know I have no right to impose upon you but am at my wits end. Thank you sincerely,
Karen
