Hans sent a message to Elizabeth A. Smith Chairman and CEO, Bloomin Brands, Inc. that said:
Dear Mrs. Smith,Yesterday (February 14th, 2015) My wife and I had supper at Carrabba's Columbus Georgia. I called about two weeks prior and got on the call ahead list for Valentine's Day at 5:30pm - after supper we were to go to the movies. I planned all this two weeks prior to Valentine's Day for our night out and I had additionally purchased the movie tickets in advanced from Fandango, - knowing the show would be sold out - as it certainly was. .... Got to Carrabba's in plenty of time, --- no record of my call ahead seating, was informed their computer had crashed and that might be the problem. They got us in though, - had to wait about 50 minutes, - the place was packed. They offered no free drinks or anything but an apology for the situation. Ate a good meal but missed the movie I had planned so we went back home. We eat regularly at Carrabba's, Outback, and Bonefish Grill, but this really spoiled our Valentine's Day plan on my part. I would appreciate if someone could at least look into the matter. I cannot believe all this happened after I went to the trouble to set all this up about two weeks prior to the event. I am not especially happy that the Valentine's Day surprise I set up went down like this ...... . I do understand unexpected things happen sometimes, but this - On Valentine's Day, after setting it up two weeks prior. And missing the movie I had already paid for. You would think they could have at least offered a couple free drinks during the wait, or a discount of the meal, or a free appeitizer or something or anything for their mistake - not mine ................. But they were really rather casual regarding the entire situation. I even went to the bar while waiting, ask about happy hour specials, paid for a house wine and draft beer. The place was packed, the bartender overcharged me for my happy hour draft beer, and when I paid for it with a 10 dollar bill - he said 'thanks' , kept the change, and went onto the next customer. He really should have brought me my change and let me decide if and how much I wanted to tip him. I really resent the bartender's actions. I think this guy is taking people's money and overcharging, and then just walking away to get on with some other customer at the crowded bar. I don't know what's worse - the bartender or the fact that because they did not have my name because of a computer crash --- our Valentine's evening was actually ruined. The whole thing. And I planned it prior to the event, knowing they would be packed. And one other thing --- at the table, prior to ordering, - I got another draft beer and wine for my wife. The draft beer at the table rang up for a dollar less that the one at the bar. That bartender is nothing but a crooked person working there, - and because their were several people behind the bar working, and the large crowd, it's impossible to go back and pick this particular guy out. Now I ask .... How would you feel if all this happened to you on Valentine's Night out with your wife ......
