Dear Ms. Rosenfeld,
My name is Marty Ford.
I am nobody!!! Just a guy working on his computer in his basement wanting to do good things for all our Veterans
of which I am one having served in The USAF from 1969-1973.
I am writing to you asking for your support of my mission of collecting and distributing, to Veterans, donations of jackets, coats, hats, gloves, pants, shirts, footwear, socks and underwear. I would, also, like to gather personal hygiene products, food, beverages, snacks and gift cards.
Of course money donations are welcome and will be used to pay for the expenses involved with storage, distribution and transportation. I am NOT, repeat NOT a non-profit 501-3C but as stated above just a guy wanting to do some good for those who have served our country making it possible for those at home to live their lives, prosper from their work and enjoy the love of family.
My motivation is to provide your donations to the vast number of Veterans some of whom must wait months before seeing a doctor, the countless number of Homeless Veterans. I am concerned about The VA Leadership who recently compared waiting for VA services to waiting in line for the rides at Disney World.
When our kids were of single digit age I did a similar project using my Santa Claus costume and wrote letters like this to businesses I thought would support my efforts. The campaign was quite successful giving my family pleasure in giving back to the community and more importantly teaching our kids the value doing something noble for others. I want this project to become national in range and scope reaching as many veterans as are out there.
If you want to be part of my mission I am open to your sponsorship, involvement and participation. If you want to initiate a program such as mine within your company I would like to take the lead. It will be good for Public Relations and even better for our Veterans when they know well known brand name organizations support their cause. It will be great for me to realize my goal of doing what I love to do and as always a little bit more.
