Mission Statement
Our organization celebrates the accomplishments of Women over 60. We are the women and daughters of the “The Greatest Generation.” As Senior Women, we have nurtured our families, our careers and our local communities while surviving personal tragedy, economic depressions, Regional Conflicts and World Wars. We have been present while the nations of the world went to the unthinkable brink of Nuclear Holocaust. We are savvy, goal-oriented and aware. We display these characteristics in our everyday lives, as people, and as humanitarians who always seek to improve the lives of others. As an organization, we seek to further empower Women of all nations and cultures to strive for equality, to achieve their personal best, to make real and meaningful changes and to individually redefine what it means to be a Senior Woman and role model to the communities of Women who will follow us.
Where We Are Now
We are building and have a dynamic Founding Board of Governors, many of whom you know and who share the same goals. Thanks to the Senior Women on our Board, the reception and growth have been nothing less than spectacular. I am personally in awe of each and every one of them, Kat Ray, Laura McFayden, Carol Thomas, Virginia Werner, Connie Ross-Karl, Elizabeth Purtee, Mary McIntosh, and now Michelle Rahn - what they have accomplished and what they now and in the future have to offer the country and the world. We have an Advisory Panel from the entertainment industry and are also working with other Pageant families to provide more opportunities for our accomplished queens to compete regionally, nationally and on the international level. We are preparing to launch the Universe/USA website and to announce an events that, at present, will include an opportunity for our Queens to enter appearances as soon as late Summer/Early Fall, a Meet and Greet for Queens in Las Vegas in early November, the Ms. Senior USA Pageant in May 2017, and Ms. Senior Universe/Mrs. Universe in Fall 2017. All of these will take place in Las Vegas, and we have been offered a residency at the Smith Center and are in talks with Vegas PBS to film and broadcast the events. This week we confirmed that the Ms. Senior Universe group is partnering with the UN Commission on Women, and we will be appointing a special ambassador for that role.
