Stan sent a message to Ronald D. Boire – Chief Executive Officer of Barnes Noble, Inc. – Email Address that said:
Dear Ron Boire,
Hello, I hope your day is going well.
I’ve owned two bookstores for sixteen years and fully support the success of stick and mortar stores, rather than having the internet supplant them. Recently, I completed a sixteen year project, a historical novel The Emperor and the Spy, and a website linked to it that has an illustrated timeline.
Below are some Links to this book. I would appreciate you including this book on your shelves. It is already available through Barnes Noble Print-on-demand and digitally on Nook. As you can see from the below Links the book has gotten front page coverage in San Diego newspapers and magazines, and has also received some diplomatic recognition.
The book honors the art of Diplomacy in the pursuit of Peace. The format is an exciting espionage novel which highlights a real life, unsung American Hero who allied with members of the Japanese Royal Family and other top leaders of Japan in an attempt to avoid conflict between their nations and the outbreak of World War Two.
Requests are coming in for me present the story behind the novel to chapters of Rotary International, which has 1.25 million members worldwide. The Intelligence agent in the novel was active in Rotary, as was one of the Japanese Statesmen he allied with. Veterans groups are also requesting presentations. If you visit the Amazon site for this book you’ll see that reviews have been strong. Once the book gets into your stores, I believe it will prove itself in sales, in either the Asian History section or the Historical Fiction section or both.
It’s an interesting coincidental that you worked for Sony for many years, considering this novel has an emphasis on Japan.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for your time and attention,
Stan

BELOW IS A DIPLOMATIC EVENT THAT HIGHLIGHTED THE NOVEL:
The photos and written documents that inspired 'The Emperor and the Spy open a new window to the first half of the twentieth century Japanese and American History...On June 22nd, 2016 historians, diplomats, military experts, and professors from Japan visited America on a goodwill diplomatic/educational tour. They held panel discussions on the rise of international tensions in the Southeast Asian Pacific region, issues involved and possible solutions.
This was held on the campus of the University of San Diego at the Joan Kroc Institute of Peace and Justice.
The historical novel, ‘’The Emperor and the Spy,’’ along with its illustrated website, TheEmperorAndTheSpy.com, honors many Japanese leaders who attempted to prevent World War Two. It is hoped that this new awareness might reduce tensions in that region of the world that are based on past grievances of war…The author of 'The Emperor and the Spy, was invited to do a book signing at this event. An inscribed copy of 'The Emperor and the Spy, was gifted to the visiting Japanese to present to their Prime Minister upon their return to Japan.
