Sanchaita sent a message to Lakshmi Mittal – Chairman and CEO, ArcelorMittal – Email Address that said:
Dear Sir,
I'm sanchaita from Ranchi (Jharkhand), associated with CBSE affiliated Star International School as Secretary, SMC.
The school is run under the aegis of LEADS, a NGO .
The matter is related to the school which defaulted in repayment to Punjab National Bank , Ranchi and as in process it had been put for e-auction by the bank.
Fortunately on merit we got a STAY through DRT, Ranchi as a temporary relief till 14 September 2016.
The school owns another property of 125 decimal land worth Rs 1.5 crore approx. which has been put on sale by us so that the debt could be liquidated. Despite our sincere efforts it is getting difficult to crack the deal within a given time frame.
Sir, this school is located at a remote area of Ranchi district with a promise to provide standard education to the children of 35 villages around the school.
Due to low paying capacity of the people of that area we failed to generate required revenue every month for bank EMIs.
As ordered by the Honble DRT court we had deposited 20 lacs this year in May 2016.
To come out of the situation the school requires a fund of 1.50 crore only.
We have tried all our means and still trying but with constantly growing pressure of the bank the future of the students studying, more specifically the children who have been adopted are at risk.
Our appeal to you Sir, Please do something whatever possible and SAVE the school.
I shall be grateful for your kind gesture.
Hoping to hear from you.
With regards,
Sincerely Yours,
Sanchaita

How does the organization justify its mission Service through Education?
The school run under the aegis of LEADS is a private public school as found everywhere. What makes it different is the idea of imparting standard education to the socially marginalized children enrolled in the school identified under various projects run by LEADS.
With initial exclusive effort of our team these children were brought to the main stream curriculum and merged with the general students of the school.
VARIOUS PROJECTS OF LEADS : ( run at Star International School, Ranchi)
• Project SAMVEDNA : Started in 2008.
BIHAR KOSI FLOOD in 2008 was declared a National Calamity in view of its scale and intensity. The children as they were the worst hit, needed long term rehabilitation beyond mere immediate help.
LEADS identified 22 children directly from the Flood Relief Camps of Madhepura, Saharsa, Purnea and other districts in the age group of 6-10 yrs and brought them to their new home at Star International School, Ranchi.
• Project BALIKA VISHESH : Started in the year 2009.
LEADS identified 20 girls belonging to BPL, SC ST category in the age group of 6-8 years and enrolled them in the school.
• Project SAMPOORNA ROJGAR YOJNA : Started in the year 2010.
Five families were identified from different villages of Ranchi and Gumla districts of Jharkhand. These landless families were extended employment in the school with housing and education to their children. A total of 15 children fall under this project.
It is a KISS of LIFE to these 57 children availing complete package involving home, fooding, medical assistance, day to day care and education.
The holistic development of these children is ensured by exposing them to various practical activities as gardening, organic medicinal farming, dairy management and so on so that they remain grounded in the reality.
LEADS now plans to introduce them to various vocational training programs for skill development to enable them for a livelihood.
AIM OF THE PROJECT
