Jeroen sent a message to Kelcy Warren – Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Energy Transfer Partners, L. P. Email Address that said:
Dear Sir K. Warren,
It pleases me to find who is the top responsible person of the humanitarian crisis surrounding the Dakota Access Pipeline. I am, because it means you are no longer able to hide behind anonymity, and be held responsible directly. This also gives you the opportunity to turn around, and finally do what's right and end this project. And not just this project, but fossil fuels in general. Due to this being a limited resource, it results in ever worse options to be exploited to meet the demand, with increasingly worse complications with regard to humanity and environment.
I am an engineer by trade, and I choose this line of work, because I wanted to contribute to a better future. However I found that it's not the engineering work that decides the future, but the choices made from above about which way we go with regard to exploitation of energy resources. And that the only way I can really contribute is by constant pressure to those who decide what direction we go to choose the right path. I do hope you do want to contribute to mankind in a positive manner, and will make the necessary corrections.
