My name is Lenn and I purchase a new Yamaha (2014 model) four-stroke 200 HP outboard motor from the Yamaha agent here in Barbados.
This motor was purchase in May 2014 and while performing the schedule service yesterday, the technician advised that the gear seal was faulty and the leg would have to be repaired.
Sir, I never expected that after spending $41,000.00 (BDS) on a new motor and having the maintenance perform as scheduled, that within three years the seal in the leg would be faulty.
Your agent here in Barbados informed me that YAMAHA only give one year warranty and I would have to pay for the repairs. However, after researching the Yamaha website I found that the 2014 model 200 HP four-stroke Outboard motor is warranty for three years.
Sir, I brought this matter to your attention because it took me one month before the local Yamaha agent could come to service the motor and I would like to hear from you how much warranty Yamaha Motor Company Limited gives its customers on a new 200 HP four-stroke Outboard Motor. (2014 Model)
