Michael sent a message to William T. Dillard II – Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Dillard’s Inc. – Email Address that said:
Dear Sir:
My name is Michael I am writing to you because i am out of options, and hoping that you can help me. I became a Dillard's credit card member in May 2016. It is my understanding that i was approved for your credit card because i am credit worthy i.e. an acceptable credit score and a solid credit payment history. The problem began with my first, and 2nd payments which was made on time, my bank denied both payments due to a block i add to my checking account. Initially, I was unaware the Wells Fargo and Dillard's had partnered. So, when I saw a withdrawal from Wells Fargo I added the block. An honest mistake, I hope you can believe that. My account was then reported to the credit bureaus as 30, 60 day late, which in damaged my credit score, which has damaged my chances of building a strong credit history with your company. When this mishap was brought to my attention i spoke with several of your credit department supervisors, namely Rebecca, to whom i have spoken with twice regarding this matter. Our first conversation seemed to be heading toward a solution with her initiating an dispute, she assured me that the mishap would be corrected, considering it no fault of mine. To date i have not received the results of said dispute. However, our second conversation that took place on 9/6/2016, did not go as well. In a word she stated that there is nothing that she could do to resolve this issue. She also stated, that company policy doesn't allow for "special considerations" at which point I request that my account be closed. I would think that a company such as Dillard's would be a bit more sensitive to their customer's issues. She seemed to care less if i closed the account. So, I called the credit bureaus, and was informed that the issue could be resolved if the creditor agrees to the dispute. Mr. Dillard i have worked very hard to get and maintain my creditworthiness...and it seems that something as simple as a misunderstanding on my behave will ruin all of my hard work. I applied for your credit card because i felt it will help strengthen my my profile, and it has. I did this all in an effort to purchase my first home. That dream may be just that a dream.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Michael
