Dear Wendell P. Weekes I am writing as a long time Amazon customer. My Amazon account – Wendell P Weeks email address

Roger Foster sent a message to Wendell P. Weeks - Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Corning Incorporated - Email Address that said:

Dear Wendell P. Weekes
I am writing as a long time Amazon customer. My Amazon account, which is associated with my email address, runs up thousands of dollars per year on products for my family. I am writing to express my grave concern about Amazons advertising practices. In particular, I am absolutely appalled that Amazon, a company I give a considerable amount of money to, is advertising on the website Breitbart.com.
This is a total deal breaker for me. I will not have profits from my purchases used to fund a website that has a side bar called ‘black crime. The reason Breitbart has a side bar called ‘black crime is because the website promotes the view that there is something abnormal, associated with racial genetics, driving crimes by peoples of African descent in the United States. This view is absolutely beyond the pale of what is acceptable in a multicultural, multi-ethnic democracy. I will not have my money used to advance the cause of white supremacy.
This is a fraught time for our country. I do not believe it is possible any longer for companies like yours to stand on the fence, and play both sides of the field while the democratic and civic culture people have come to take for granted in this country is deliberately sabotaged by a group of people who are attempting to install a white nationalist regime. This is not a struggle in which you can be neutral. You are either on the side of multicultural democracy, or you are on the side of the forces pulling this country towards dangerous ethno-nationalist and rampantly xenophobic currents. Amazon must choose.
I will not be placated on this issue. If Amazon continues to advertise on a website that promotes white supremacist ideas like ‘black crime, I shall cancel my account and begin the task of looking for other suppliers to provide the products and services my family relies on. I will take a hit in terms of time and resources to do this. But you can be certain I am not going to continue having my money used to subsidize the growth of white supremacist ideas in the United States.
I look forward to receiving your response on this matter.
