My name is Stephen D Butler Sr., and I am a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. from the Kappa Alpha Sigma Chapter in Stone Mountain, Ga. The nature of my email is to potentially partner with Walmart, to do a Toy Drive at the Children Hospital of Atlanta Scottish Rite. We as an organization, and a chapter, have completed several community service project this year, partnering with Aid Atlanta, to provide free testing to our community. But we are in need of your assistance with getting this particular event off the ground.
To provide a back story to this particular event, I now have a healthy 7 year-old son, who has had to battle Neuroblastoma twice in his young, and adventurous life. At the age of 2, he was admitted in to the hospital for a tumor the size of a softball. With a successfully surgery, they were able to remove the tumor, so that he may continue living life to the fullest. Exactly two years later, on May 2, 2015, he was diagnosed with Stage Four Neuroblastoma with the cancer spreading throughout his body. After 14 months of chemotherapy, radiation, MIBG treatment, he is now back to being a child. Enjoying the fact of being able to attend school, now as a first grader. Within that time of his treatments and countless nights of wondering, each nurse, and the doctors treated my son as if he was their own. Making him comfortable, taking moments to talk, and laugh, and sometimes entertain. All within the Aflac Cancer Center at Scottish Rite.
Those moments, will forever be a lasting impression. Not just to myself, his mother, grandparents, uncles, or aunts, but to my son. Knowing they\'ve taken time, not just on him but each child in their care. And for that main reason myself, and also my chapter would like to give back to this hospital, by completing a Toy Drive. If your corporation would be willing to help, and partner with our organization to make this a success we would greatly appreciate you in all of your efforts.
