My mother, Margaret Wood has had Direct TV for several years. We are moving and needed to cancel our service. Wednesday, May 15th I called for her and arranged for our service to be cancelled on June 17th. On May 17th at 11:59 PM our service was cancelled. Yesterday, May 17th we spent most of the day trying to get it reinstated for the next month. We were told the following: A technician will be out to take care of the problem - no technician showed up all day, then we were told that they just needed to push a button and at 11:59 PM last night the service would be restored. It was not restored. So I called again this morning. I was told that it would be taken care of with the reconnection department - after being on the phone for about an hour. Upon talking to the reconnection department I was told that yes they could reconnect the phone, however we would have to sign a one year contract to have the service for the next month until we move. This is unacceptable.

I realize that my mother is just one 85 year old woman that means nothing to you and your large company. But to me she is everything. She has very few pleasures in this life right now. One of them is being able to have access to the television for entertainment, news and company while she is alone.

Surely, you as the CEO of Direct TV can find 5 minutes out of your day to help her.
