Dr. Mr. Carmichael:
My name is Janis . I have had my second mortgage through Fifth Third Bank for many years. I am writing to you today in the hopes that perhaps you could offer some assistance in my situation. I am currently pursuing a short sale on my house. I find myself in a situation where my husband and I are divorcing and he left and moved on to a new residence, etc. I have been living in my house by myself with half of the income I had for 16 years. I cannot stay in my house which is why I am selling but unfortunately, much more is owed on my house than it is worth, hence the short sale. Being responsible with paying my bills, mortgage etc is very important to me. For a time after my separation I had family members who were willing to help me keep up with my mortgage payments ideally until the house sold. But it has taken quite a bit longer than anyone thought and I am now on my own and only able to pay what I can pay on my mortgages at this point. I want to say that I am so very sorry for this as it bothers me a great deal. I have an excellent credit score that I have taken pride in. But I am now struggling quite a bit and needing to get out from under this house. Apparently, things were almost wrapped up when Bank of America offered a sum of money to Fifth Third to clear the deed to the house and Fifth Third agreed to that amount and the paperwork was written up, etc. But then Fifth Third changed the amount that they wanted so now everything is back in limbo.
Luckily, I have buyers for my house – they want to buy it and have hung in here for quite a while now – I don’t want to lose them. The first buyers I had pulled out because it was taking too long. I have tried to do every next right thing in this situation – but for some reason it is taking a very long time. I would like to say that there is a woman who works for you who was on my case at one point who was WONDERFUL – her name is Natalie Wilson. I like to see people recognized in some way when they do a great job – she was very nice and helpful in all of our correspondences. But now my case has gone on to the next person – I don’t even know who that is……. I was born in Cincinnati and have always loved the city. I have always had good experiences with Fifth Third customer service whenever I had to call for something. I guess I am just asking and hoping for someone to help me in this matter. It was suggested to me to write to you in the event that you could possibly check on my case and/or offer some kind of assistance to see this matter to a close. Believe me, I appreciate any help that anyone can give me. Thank you for your time.
