Jackie beeston sent a message to John Donahoe that said:
John Donahoe, after tackling your customer services on eBay and going round in circles with no response or them backing up on there decisions I have come to you on recommendation from the eBay community page that has thousands of complaints against ebays decisions towards the seller. eBay donât consider the seller to have any rights they seem to decide in favour of the buyer on a consistent level. I sold an item that came with a certificate of authenticity that is stamped by trading standards showing all weights materials and gem stones. Even though I made a huge loss for this item when I sold it and the buyer got a great bargain they opened a dispute towards me even after personally messaging them to send them all authenticity to answer there query. I stated no returns so they opened a dispute under false terms saying the item wasnât genuine. I asked eBay to step in which they did and they agreed the item had evidence it was genuine and the buyer didnât have anything to show otherwise. Even though I had paperwork in place and went through all the right procedures eBay still decided in there favour. Since then I have appealed against there decision which came back in the buyers favour only 24hours later yet I have had no correspondence on the dispute I opened against the buyer for making false claims to open a dispute. The price of the item I sold is irrelevant, it is how I have been treated as a seller. There appears to be no rights for us and we are treated as a criminal if the buyer decides they donât like an item. I have again contacted your support team and spoke to Mitch in Dublin and expressed my frustration using eBay. He stated that eBay is just a market place and canât accept certificates of authenticity in the uk yet they can be for overseas shipping and even though I stated no returns I still have no comeback on false disputes being opened and I will not know the outcome so itâs a loose loose situation for myself. I have been using eBay for 14 years never having an issue but this has really put me off using yourselves again. Please can you put In place some form of protection for the seller. If you state no returns that should be put into practice if the buyer has no genuine reason or evidence to follow there allegations. I know Iâm only 1 voice but there are many people in agreeance with me on the eBay community page saying the seller has no rights but without them there is no buyer. Please address this. I have all correspondence stored on my eBay page if you want to take a further look into this. I understand you have many more important things to do but Iâm sure there would be thousands of people happy to hear things have changed for the seller. eBay is at the top of its league for selling items against competitive companies but sellers like myself will move if we donât have any rights. Thanks for listening please please consider my suggestions.
