I booked a test drive at the harley davidson shop in gateshead county durham. it was for the new fatbob. i got this one as i had my son coming up from london for the weekend and i hadnt seen him for 21 yrs. he told me that he has never been on a motorbike. so for a surprise i booked a test drive (what better bike than a Harley to be your first bike ever to get some experience of a bike ride) so when i booked the bike. i got an email saying that the fatbob was off the road and could i pick another. so looking through the broucher i saw the electra glide ultra. i thought that would be ideal for his seating. (make him feel more secure in the seat. ) well we went out for our ride and he loved it. he said it was the best thing he has ever done and he loved the bike.
When i gave back the keys, i asked if i was still entered into the competition to win a bike of your dreams. and he said No as it was not one of the bikes listed in the category. he said that he offered me the chance of a street rod but i turned it down (if you look at the street rod it only has one seat. so my son could not experience a bike ride.so i turned it down)
I think it was unfair not to be entered into the competition as the bike i booked was not available at the shop. i told them in advance that i was bringing my son with me. but no.
I just thought i would let you know about my experience at the gateshead shop.
