Respected Sir/ Madam,
I am a current Ph.D. student at MG University, Kottayam, Kerala. My area of research is Impact of Migration and how it is affecting the left behind aged population in Kerala. I have been a meritorious student throughout my academic career.
The Venice International University, Italy have selected me for their Summer School Training programme on Ageing from June 2nd to 7th, 2019 organized by the Summer Institute of Ageing in collaboration with prominent universities from Europe. The institute has granted me a full scholarship which will cover the registration fee, accommodation and food. I am the only one got this opportunity from India.
Attending this conference will not only provide me with an opportunity to learn more about the latest trends and developments in Geriatrics, it will also increase visibility for our Country. My attendance at this conference will help us to gain valuable information about what other developed countries are doing and where they are focusing their efforts on the elderly care, which is soon going to be a serious concern for Kerala and Indian society.
Hence, I am writing to request you for a special travel grant of Rs.120000/- which will help me attend the programme. I believe this conference will benefit the University, State and me as I pursue my studies and career in this field. The last date of registration and visa processing is May 4th 2019.
I will not be able to attend this programme without the grant since my financial position is not sound to fund myself.
