Donald Jones sent a message to Joseph R. Swedish - President and Chief Executive Officer of Anthem, Inc. Email Address that said:
Good Afternoon Mister Swedish,
Hope this email finds you doing well and blessed. Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to this email.
I am a Pastor that has been in full time ministry for nearly 24 years and for those years and even before, I have been a Loyal Member of Anthem Health Insurance.
I had always paid my Health insurance premiums through the mail but recently I decided because of how late into the Grace period I was that I would set up online account and pay my premium online.
It was February 28th the last day of Grace period and I submitted payment of $1262.93 and assumed that the payment went through since my online checking account was showing it as a pending transaction . I never checked it again.
The payment was mistakenly cancelled and that led to my Insurance coverage being cancelled on March 4th. I wasnt aware until I received notice on March 20th through the mail.
On March 21st, I respectfully ask for Reconsideration on my Cancellation and I apologized for errors that may have been caused on my end. I honestly do not know if I hit a cancel button or if payment was not processed on the receiving end of Anthem.
Yesterday, April 14th I contacted Anthem to see if there was any news on my appeal and I was informed by phone that the appeal had been denied.
The explanation that was given was that Anthem was becoming stricter on Reinstatement.
I am appealing to you Mister Swedish as a long time member of Anthem in Virginia for your intervention and reinstatement of my Insurance policy Retroactive back to March 4th.
I have never had any issue like this and this is troubling for myself and my family.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter and I will wait for your Response. May the Lord direct your Steps as you Lead this Company and May you continue to be blessed Richly.
Sincerely,
Donald Jones
