Good Afternoon Mr. President/CEO,
I own my first motorcycle, 2006 V-Star 1300. Currently 50,000 original miles. Since first ride, I obseved a noise from the transmission. I returned the motorcycle to the original dealer, as well as same complaint to several other repair shops. On a recent trip for service, I heard an even louder noise/rattle from the transmission. What it turned out to be was the drive shaft and belt sprocket wore out to disengage. I purchased the parts ($900USD) and paid a mechanic ($1100 USD) to replace the defective part. I have since read many online posts about this problem with various models. Why has a recall not been issued? Where can I return these parts to the Yamaha Engineering to investigate a potential manufacturing defect? This has cost me a substantial amount of time and money. It shouldn't happen to anyone else. Please respond. Don
