Gary sent a message to Carol Meyrowitz President and CEO, TJX Companies, Inc. – email address that said:
Good evening, my name is Gary . I am contacting you in regards to two horrible back to back experiences that I have had in your Buckhead Place Marshalls. First in the fall of 2015 this store received a number of Polo Ralph Lauren leather jackets. They all were marked $199. Felicia a coordinator said they were mismarked and said she could not sell them to me at that price. In fact she said the store received a memo to change the prices to $399, but they had been too busy to change the prices. She attempted to remove the price on the four leather jackets. I asked for the store manager. Karen was the MOD. She agreed with me that the items had to be sold as marked. Felicia developed an I stand stank attitude. Fast forward to June23, 2016 at 3:45 pm. I presented 10 items for purchase. Felicia was the cashier.
The total was $498. I had my wife's credit card, the card was signed. There was no message to check ID. Felicia asked to see the card and ID. They did not match. I spoke with the MOD, Karen. She apologized, but refused to honor my purchase. I put the items on hold. I returned 45 minutes later with cash. Felicia and Karen were walking out. Felicia said something to Karen and Karen stood outside her silver Kia and called the store. When I was called to check out the MOD, Nadeen whispered in Najee's ear. I had to tell her five times that I had items on hold and that I had a return. Apparently,Karen had called Nadeen to give her a heads up. My return was denied because she claimed the description did not match. I ask her to tell me what it said. She stuttered. I know the item was purchased from that store. I walked to the sales floor and brought a similar item, same name brand and price. Nadeen said the color description did not match. I asked for the District Manger's name and number. She gave the the corporate 800 number. I had to ask three more times for the local number to the DM before it was finally given. I completed my purchase with cash after my bills were verified. When I returned to my car, Karen was still outside sitting behind my car.
First, I plan to return every single item purchased, plus the item without a receipt. The level of service I received today is unacceptable. I will never return to Marshalls again. I ask that CEO Herrman watch the in-store surveillance video and the parking lot video to see how I was treated. Karen called the store and remained in the parking lot until I left the store. I deserve an apology period.
I called the DM, Sandy and she does not have a professional out-going-message on her voice mail. Maybe you should try to call her and leave a message.
