First, I would like to introduce myself. I am a Human Resources professional working in the energy sector in Newfoundland, Canada.
I am working on several projects but the one near and dear to my heart is employee engagement. I have read several stories and business cases on how positive and engaged Costco employees are at your company. I think there is a lot we could learn about improving employee engagement. I have always believed an organizations strongest asset is its employees. Being an avid volunteer in my community and see how great it is to help someone or an organization give back, shows me that there is so much we could be doing to make employees feel the same way.
I have spent time implementing Lean manufacturing and high performance work systems and have visited places that do that well. I would like to take my existing knowledge and experience in those areas and learn from you and Costco and what makes you so successful in employee engagement.
