Good Morning, I wish to draw to your attention the shocking service that I have – Michael OLeary email address

Michael Wales sent a message to Michael OLeary - CEO, Ryanair - Email Address that said:

Good Morning,

I wish to draw to your attention the shocking service that I have received and hope that you will be able to help me somehow, yourself.

I am due to fly to Tenerife with my Partner tomorrow morning (Tuesday 25th, April) and have spent this morning attempting to arrange Special Assistance for myself as I am extremely tall (611”) and find that sitting in regular seats to be uncomfortable at best and painful at worst. This is due to the pressure of the seat in front of me pressing back on my knees. In quick shuttle flight (e.g. Glasgow to London) this wouldnt be much of a problem as I can usually move around the cabin and sit for take off and landing, however, my doctor has written me a letter which specifically says that I must be seated with extra legroom during any flights longer than 3 hours as my seating position leaves me with greater risk of DVT and other circulatory complications.

As I said, this morning I have been trying to organise an extra legroom seat. I spoke to your Online Chat people who were helpful but unable to assist me, I was then asked to call your Call Centre where I spoke to someone who wanted me to pay for extra legroom despite this being for Special Assistance and NOT just me wanting extra legroom! They then proceeded to claim that I DID NOT in fact have any disablement and I would have to pay £100 over the 2 flights just to fit on the plane!

When I complained and asked to speak to their supervisor, I was told that the supervisor would just say the same thing, but I could call your Head Office. Upon calling the Head Office, I was eventually answered by a lady who was so rude that I have never been so irritated by a company in my life!!! She not only refused to give me her name, but when I explained my issue huffed and sighed and told me WITH ATTITUDE that I should have called the Special Assistance line. Bear in mind that I had just called them and been told to call Head Office. When I asked to speak to someone else she grew irritated with me (a paying customer!) and told me that she wouldnt and there was nothing I could do!

So I hope you can see that the response from your company so far has been entirely unhelpful, offensive and worst of all DISCRIMINATORY! I cannot help that I am tall, I cannot help that sitting with my knees pressed against something for 4 hours is painful, so why should I have to pay £100 to sit in a seat that will fix these issues!?!

Sincerely,
Michael Wales
