We really need some advice and I am hoping you can help us. I am at my wit's end as to how to solve our problem. My husband worked for Graybar Electric for 20 years, from January 1976 to December, 1997. He suffered a stroke early in 2016 and we have been waiting for him to turn 65 in order to receive his retirement benefits from Graybar. He turned 65 at the beginning of January. I called Graybar HR to ask about his benefits. They said we had to have paperwork given to him 20 years ago at his retirement. I said if we had that paperwork, it had been lost in the last 20+ years and they said they would send it out within 6 weeks. It has been 2 months now and we still haven't seen the paperwork or received anything from Graybar on how to receive his benefits. Is there a person or number we can call to expedite this? We have received periodic notifications over the years telling us that his retirement money was invested well and that he has "x" amount of money coming to him at 65. I assumed Graybar would contact us on his birthday or thereabouts, but I called specifically to find out the details because we really need the money immediately to pay bills. The HR person I spoke to said Graybar doesn't contact us, but we need to contact them at retirement age (which I did) and that they would send the paperwork needed to access the funds. But so far, no word... Please let me know my next steps. Thank you so much for your assistance. We really appreciate it.
