Antoinette sent a message to Todd J. Vasos – Chief Executive Officer of Dollar General Corporation – Email Address that said:
Greetings,
I am the Program Manager for a local organization that supports adults with developmental disabilities. During my visit to your store today, September 2, 2016, I was publicly humiliated by a management associate while the store general manager looked on.
We stopped in your store to purchase some items and during that time my client was accused and admitted to shoplifting. I do understand that this is totally inappropriate and calmly offered to return the merchandise or pay for it. Since this client is legally capable of operating in the community unsupervised he is responsible for his own actions and I explained this to the store management.
At this time, while customers were still in the store, and African gentleman who stated that he was a member of management, started yelling at me directly, insulting my competence stating that I "would never work with anyone with developmental disabilities again", and shouted at me to get off the property. He also asked my client for the agency details, and I directly attempted to provide him with a business card which he refused. Once I was in my car, the African manager came outside and continued to harass me by standing in front of my car yelling for me to get off of the property and banning me from that location. He stated that I was never welcomed there again.
At this point I am contacting you, Mr. Vasos, to provide a resolution to this matter since I feel as if I may need legal representation to speak on my behalf. I would like for this management team to be addressed and to be contacted at williamsa74a@gmail.com to speak with someone who can follow up with me to make this right.
