Greetings Mr. Fettig! I write to let you know of the dilemma we're facing with our Kitchenaid Architect II series refrigerator. My spouse and I (both hard working nurses) did a complete kitchen remodel in 2013, and were happy to add this beautiful refrigerator as a finishing touch. Unfortunately, four service calls later, our evaporator coils continue to ice over, resulting in refrigeration failure with all it's consequences: spoiled food; lost time at work and vacation, and an expense of close to a thousand dollars. I am at wits end, and am considering scrapping this refrigerator in order to stem the hemorrhage of time and money (had to throw in a little clinical metaphor there:)
With respect to the Kitchenaid reputation, my father was, for many years a manufacturer's representative who specified your brand as often as possible. Also, he never failed to impress upon us the wisdom in spending that little extra for a quality product. In fact we've had several great appliances of yours, but fear we've come upon a lemon. Can you offer any words of advice? I have spoken with a customer service rep, but didn't find the solution of a "plus one " warranty for $359.00 very enticing.
