Charles Shields sent a message to Matthew Levatich that said:

I have been a honda rider all my life. In January 2017 I started purchasing my first H-D, an xg 750 street. I was beginning to enjoy it. One day in December while on a
errand I was cut off by a car and had to take evasive actions. I did not come into contact with the car but the rear tire slid from side to side which caused me to hit the curb. This scenario is normal to me except for the sliding of the rear end. I had the bike towed to Republic Harley S in Houston. The nightmare began. I was not seriously hurt and the bike appeared to have only cosmetic damage. I was told that the bike was totaled. The H-d insurance told me they were salvaging the bike. They paid it off minus $1,000. Within two weeks I received a recall notice about a defect with the brakes. I don't have a bike anymore but I do have a bill for $1,000 and the insurance sent me a bill for $13.00. I believe I have nothing because of a defect in the motorcycle and no one can help me at all. I was told to prove it. I have nothing so I don't want to pay anything so that I can get me another bike. You are my last hope for justice in this matter.
