Matt,
I was watching an old video on youtube and I had an idea that could truly signal a global return for HD.
Global being the key word here.
Forgive my lengthy intro but I remember growing up in Italy this collector with an 8-valve board track racer from the 1920's. As you know, all throughout that era Harley dominated the European racing circuits and I believe that it would be great for Harley-Davidson to launch a Moto GP effort. Yes, next to the largest global producers, win on Sunday, sell on...
The Youtube video that I was watching is called "Britten V1000 vs Raceco Moto Guzzi - BEARS Brands Hatch 1995 (Highlights)" where a V-Twin Britten is killing it. If an engineer from New Zealand can develop that on his own, you guys can do it with a couple of these Tesla engineers here in LA that are still into combustion chambers.
The Buell experience was great but still too " domesticated".
Ducati produced a 4 cylinder so, there should be no limitations to heritage anymore.
Also, I know the owner of a Britten here in Solvang, CA in case you need to see it for inspiration or study.
Best of luck my friend and do consider the idea; it would shock the motorcycle world and turn a big page for our beloved company.
