MELINDA sent a message to Glen F. Post, III President and CEO, CenturyLink, Inc. – email address that said:
Hello Glen,
I would like you to hear about my experience with your company the last couple years. I have always been a Century Link/Qwest customer. From the beginning of my first account and when I purchased my business. I am a mom of two kids. I manage my sons summer lacrosse as well as a board member for his High School lacrosse. I also have a daughter that plays hockey and soccer year round. So needless to say. I am very busy all the time. I own a small salon in MN. We have six stylists including myself. We are an extremely busy salon. To keep costs down we do not have a receptionist. The stylists take turns answering the phone and we also have online booking for this reason. I receive at least one sales call a day from Century Link. Sometimes as many as four! I recently received a shut off notice. I ignored it because I am very busy and knew the bill had been paid. This month I received another one. I thought it was strange so I looked up my account and found my account was in fact up to date. After two days and 5 phone calls to your company that took a total of about 3 hours. I finally figured out that this was for an add on service that I supposedly signed up for in March. I thought about ignoring it and letting that service get shut off. But, I feared this would interrupt the phone and internet I need to run my business. I called yet another number they gave me this morning and James finally cancelled this for me and said he would put a note in the system saying no more sales calls. I do not know what has to be done to stop this. But, I am telling you it needs to happen. Constantly interrupting the day of a small business owner is not a way to help them stay in business. I am not sure you are aware. When these people call to supposedly lower my bill. They are usually from another company trying to add on another service. After all this yesterday I received yet ANOTHER call to supposedly lower my bill! I told her to leave my account alone and she hung up on me. I want you to know you are not the only phone and internet company out there. If I continue to receive these calls interrupting my day, I will be switching. My home and business internet has not been good in the last year anyway. There have been a lot of interruptions in service. It is sad when companies like this one get so large that it takes talking to multiple people to get something resolved and the CEO and other higher ups have no idea what is really happening. Thank you for at least reading this. I only hope something gets done so another hard working busy individual doesn't have to add this kind of stress to their busy life.
