Joe sent a message to Sheldon Adelson Chairman and CEO, Las Vegas Sands Corp. – email address that said:
Hello Mr. Adelson,
My wife and I live in Henderson, NV and know a few people that work for you. From our interactions, none of them have anything negative to say about you - which surprises us, just a little. Nothing personal in us thinking that, it's just that often people don't have anything good to say about the person or people that own the company that they work for.
We have lived in southern Nevada for about seven years now and over the years have read much about you in the paper that you now own.
We are reaching out to you today to ask that you think long and hard about Mr. Trump's rhetoric regarding people of faith. I don't have to point out that the people that he is quoted disparaging the most are those in the Muslim community. But if you think about it, it shouldn't matter. Bashing people because of their faith was wrong in the early to mid nineteen hundreds and it is wrong today.
We, to be honest with you, are not people of faith. But we do believe that everyone in America should be free to worship as they please, without threat of expulsion from this great country of ours. We hope that you will feel the same and consider the consequences of of helping to elect a person who represents (in part) the worst of human kind.
And as a reminder, Mr. Trump has read extensively on Adolf Hitler, and is a big fan of his. Look at his bookshelf, this is true.
Thank you for your time.
Joe Karen
