Hello Mr. Ghosn. My name is Justin and have a problem that I need your help resolving with my Nissan Dealership in North Olmsted, OH. I purchased a Sentra in May of 2015 which was totaled in July after a tree fell on it.

I went to my Nissan dealership because I wanted to purchase an Altima. While filling out the paperwork, my finance officer told me that she could apply the amount of the warranty from the Sentra ($1305.20) as a down payment on the Altima. When she did this, she failed to inform me that I would need to pay this amount back towards the Sentra because my insurance and GAP coverage would cover this.

Basically, she took money that I owed towards the cost of the Sentra and applied it to the Altima, leaving a $1305.20 balance on my account for the Sentra that needs to be paid within 30 days or else it goes into collections. My credit has already taken a hit 3 months in a row because I have not been able to make a payment on the $1305.20 that is still owed on the Sentra.

My family has purchased 5 cars from Nissan over the past year and half because we like the care and the service, but the dealership has not given me any comforting support on this problem.

I spoke with my dealership and they told me that I would either need to refinance the vehicle and pay more taxes on the vehicle, raising my payment by at least $60 a month, or the owner could cut me a check for $1,305.20, but would need to pay him back within 3-4 months.

The problem I have is this. I have a wife and 2 kids. We are a 1 income family with 1 car and cannot afford an extra $60 a month, to pay the owner back within 3-4 months, or pay the $1305.20 back in full at once. I only make $2,600 a month after taxes and cannot afford to pay this. We were in the process of buying our first house that had to be put on hold because our credit score took a hit 3 months in a row.

Can you please help me with this problem? I am out of options on how to deal with an error that the dealership made.

I know that you are a very busy man with a lot of responsbilities, but I would very much appreciate your help with this problem. I have exhausted all of my options and dont know what else to do. Please show me that you care for your customers.
