Christopher sent a message to Matthew S. Levatich – President and Chief Executive Officer of Harley-Davidson, Inc. – Email Address that said:
Hello Mr.Levatich,
My name is Chris and I am a sixth grader who lives in Rhode Island. I am emailing you because I want to try and do something nice for my dad. He was the shipping and receiving manager for a manufacturing company and was let go when the company was sold. Now he is in school to be a truck driver.
He is not my real dad but he has been there for me since I was 5. He does whatever it takes to take care of me and my little sister and my mom. Now that I am getting older, I am starting to see how hard it can be on him but no matter how hard me and my sister always get what we need.
My favorite times with him are when he takes me for rides on his Harley Davidson. He rides all the time and even if it was just going to the store I always want to go with him. He had a sportster 1200cc that he loved and would always teach me how to fix when it needed it. Last summer, I did the oil change with him all by myself. The last things he showed me was a carb rebuild and how to put in a new gas inlet because the old one had a crack and made it leak gas. I loved doing these things with him and learning.
we haven't gone on the bike in the past few weeks and when I asked him where it was he told me he had to sell it. He tried to not make it seem like a big deal but I know he did it because of the bills and stuff. Until he finishes school, he can't get a job to be a truck driver. As long as I can remember he has driven motorcycles and that is who he is. Everything was always Harley and that is his passion. I feel really bad and for once want someone to do something for him. Me and my sister get everything and all he had was his motorcycle to drive back and forth to work on. He never gets anything for him so that is why I am writing you.
Please Mr.Levatich is there anyway you could help him for me? I wish I could get him a Harley-Davidson but I am just a kid and I have no money. This was the only idea I had to try and make my wish come true. He is the best dad and I love him and want to see him happy. Even if it is a used or old bike it doesn't matter, as long as it is a Harley-Davidson. Thank you so much and hope you can help my dad.
