Maureen sent a message to Michael F. Neidorff – Chief Executive Officer and President of Centene Corp. – Email Address that said:

Hello Mr. Neidorff,
I desperately need your help. My son is insured with Sunshine Health through Florida Healthy Kids. He is scheduled to have surgery performed for Pectus Excavatum on Tuesday May 24, 2016 with the head of pediatric surgery for John's Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL. The problem is getting the authorization for the surgery. Although my son has a Haller index of 3.3 which exceeds the 3.25 requirement for medical necessity, the authorization has been denied. The surgeon has written an appeal and participated in a telephone conversation peer to peer review with a doctor from Sunshine Health. This morning, the surgeon was told that the case would be forwarded to another Doctor with Sunshine that is a Pediatric Specialist who can better understand the medical impact of this defect. The problem is the timing. It is very unlikely that this additional review will be completed in time. My son's life has been severely impacted by this chest wall deformity. He is graduating high today and scheduled to start his college career on June 25, 2016. To date, he has missed out on so much life has to offer. I can not bear to see his unhappiness continue. Please, if there is any way you could take a moment to intercede for my son on this matter, I would be most appreciative. Thank you for your time. Maureen. Sunshine Health ID
